A short week ahead...
It was really a blessing to cover this wedding coz I got to see how rich a person can be... a 4 storey bungelow, renovated so artistically, every room has a 43" plasma and everywhere, the artist's charcoal work... and he has a small loft in one of the rooms that goes all the way up to an open attic.
Ohh, just found out that his engagement to the bride was a Tiffany (girls, curb your screamings and oooh-ings) 0.8 caret E color vvsI. the damage - a whooping $15'000!!! Yes, and this client of mine looks SO unassuming... t-shirt and jeans and a bonafide personality of a humble person.
My coffeetable book for the couple was very well-recieved and many of his friends hace positive comments on it. I was glad to be part of his wedding as well coz I realised that the world is really small - the videographer he hired from Treasure Production is an Army acquintance of mine. One of his brothers, was from Manulife which I did a corporate shoot on last year... my backup photographer was the groom's ex-classmate in 1 of the modules they studied in Uni. Small world really...
Thursday we had our 1st meeting for the Sri Lanka trip.. so many things to do and so little time. The leader was a little green on organisation but I guess the main thing is to really reach out to help the people there. It will be a spiritual journey for me as I do hope to share Christ there and Sri Lanka is a religion-diverse country (Buddism, Hinduism, Christianity and Islam). My job is mainly to be a visual documenting person thru photography (must pray for creativity and God's mercy for good pictures and opportunities) as I want it to be my 1st stepping stone to a solo exhibition or at least a training ground for my HongKong trip in end Aug.
This weekend Ms Clover and I will 'disappear' to a little hideout planned in secret to celebrate our 4th anniversary. Actually it was to be last week but since I was really busy and she has her major exercise during this week, ending today Friday, it will be a tremedous treat for the both of us to take time off and be together in each other's company for the weekend. Further more I will be leaving for Sri Lanka on the 4th instead of the 6th, earlier than scheduled.
As for the trip, I will be leaving with the advanced recce team consisting of the group leader, Ben, another experienced leader and ... me. Actually I volunteered to be in the recce team so that I can have some time to take my private photos as well as my experience in logistical matters as well as management may come in handy when the main team touch down 2 days later.
A few prayer items that I would like to be prayed for:
1) Pray for good weather and health for the members.
2) Pray for security and safekeeping throughout the trip.
3) Pray that lives and hearts will be touched by the grace of God as we served out the communities there.
4) Pray that the team is able to work cohesively and build a strong bond of friendship and comradeship thru the work we are going to do.
5) Pray that the photos taken on this trip will speak volumes to the viewers and so inspire more mission teams and humanitarian efforts to go into Sri Lanka and plant seeds.
6) Pray that while I'm overseas, my family and loved ones will be kept safe and in good health.
7) Pray that God will bless the work and may it multiple many folds to the people there.
8) Pray for peace in the heart to settle all outstanding matters before, during and after the trip
Till next time!
