Thank God for his Grace

I have posted previously that this week will be a whirlwind week. Thank God is over!
Let me give a little run down why I felt rather dreaded over the past week:

Since last Sat, I have been buried under the tight dateline of coming up with the draft of the MCF Onward Soldier June issue and this has to be done by Monday latest so that my editor and other commanders can view them and make amendments to meet the final dateline of printing and distribution by 1 week of June. So I slogged thru that weekend overnight to complete it.. and I really prayed for creativity to flow freely.. designing isn't as simple as putting text and graphics together...

then comes Monday where I have to coordinate a few appointments for the week as well as start preparing for the shoot at Sentosa on Wed. As I have mentioned, this client is an artist himself so there's a doubled amount of pressure on myself to perform to his standard and perhaps, to my own standards. As the date of shoot drew nearer, I prayed that I would shoot to God's standard as I want to "do it for God, instead of for men."

Interestingly, the shoot turned out bad in my reckoning. We started late (coz the client was a little dilly dally), when we are about to shoot, the sun went behind clouds and so everything was dull and flat. The client's expectation of a photoshoot is somewhat different from what I want to do. I got my assistant to carry a 20kg lighting pack but we never got to use it at all due to the time of setting up coincide with a light rain. All in all, I was so disappointed with myself that night that I nearly gave up on myself.

The pressure was also due to the fact that 1) I need to get the draft of the shots in a 20pg coffeetable book layout by Sat so that I can print it by Sat (the photolabs are closed on Monday due to public holiday) and 2) I can't think of any good layouts and 3) the pictures I took din inspire me at all....

The next day, Thurs, I tot I gave myself a break and celebrated my birthday without thinking about this coffeetable book. Had lots of chocolate to destress coz that night, I went back home to finish a little more of the post processing before sleeping.

Comes Friday, I was up early to start preping the laypout design BUT no inspiration. Prayed and finally started a little here and there. After which, I had a shoot at NCSS (part duluxe) which ended rather smoothly (Thank God!). After which is a mad rush to go home and really drain my brain juice on thhe coffeetable book and return the lighting equipment to my friend in Clementi.

Worked overnight from Friday to Sat and finally came up with a layout I'm pleased. Met the client in the late morning and after some deliberation for 1 plus hour, we finally settled the placement and arrangement of some photos and text and off I rush to the printers to get everything re-arranged and printed. Thank God, the client liked the work presented. Was totally zonked out by the time I'm done. Thankfully, the lady boss of the printers were very kind and made me a much-needed coffee while I waited.

Went over to Leon's immediately from town to check out my website's development and rested there for a little while. Thanked him and Ms Snooze for their birthday gift of a very nice CD that has japanese bands playing music that I loved... very solid rifts and rhythem.

Finally, made my way home and becoz I think I was way beyond tireness, I actually cleaned my house (vacuuming, sweeping and mopping the floors and cleaning the surfaces) and did my laundry before I collapsed on the bed and slept the night and the next morning away (missed church.. opps). Best record for year 2005 - 37hours without sleep.

Ahhh... well, I must thank God for His Grace and mercy. Without Him watching over me, I may have just collapse in stress and pressure. He is indeed my loving God! He has allowed me to complete each task with succession and within the stated dateline and He has made me and my works favourable to all who I present to. Amen!

This, although is a hard week, but it's also a blessed week for me.

Okie, back to work!! ^.^

Hee, u r welcome! :) a rushed week but makes the week goes faster, right! busy is good!
