Monday & I'm back to reality
Whirlwind itinerary, lots of people to meet, lots of sharing with our counterparts photogs from Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillippines, Hong Kong and Singapore... all bringing their uniqueness into making this trip a very interesting one.
So, what's it like to shoot in Hong Kong? Wonderful experience... the thrill of street shooting, the enforcement of having to use your your basics of photography when you want to capture Hong Kong in its rawest form, the unedited version.. the works
Most of the time, I toook to shooting from the hip and using hyper focus (yes I do cheat a little and use the autofocus and guessing the focal point positions) but that's the very fun of it, you never know if you got the shot or not. WHen you get it, that's great coz from that perspective, it's really changes the way you see it from eye level. If you dun get it, well, move on. Hong Kong is a place of enormous opportunities for protraits, street and landscape.
Food wise is excellent - I will never step into Crystal Jade again coz their food pales in comparison with what any streetside dim sum coffeehouse can offer. Ohh, the Xu Liu Shan outlets in Singapore.. ha, when you drink the real Xu Liu Shan mango/coconut drink in HKG, you will never want to touch the one found in Singapore (yes, it's that drastic and the taste is worlds' apart).. just like the Shihlin ji pa that's making its round in Singapore... nothing comes close to eating the real ji pa in Taipei road stalls.
How I see Hong Kong... a metropolis, a city of non-stop activities, of dreams and the blending of old and new cultures. of loud talking citizens (seriously, they talk loud and they talk fast) and of a realism in life. With these ideas in my head, I went to photograph Hong Kong.
Will have photos to show soon so do keep a look out on my gallery.
Monday is also squash night. Had a great game with my good friends at the court today.. the full body chinese styled massage I had in Shen Zhen took out the awful kink in my right ligament.. now I'm just trying to recover from the pain some of my back's pressure points have sustained.
Updae later! ^.^
heheh..actually they are up in CLubsnap (Under Landscapes and Travels) but it's a consolidated thread. Me posting slowly coz have to catch up on work.
