Hallo 2009...
2009 began in the midst of frenzy house renovations and house-moving for Ms Clover's family....
the new place looks really good and both Ms Clover and I felt that it's really a place we can call home for the next few years. It's funny to think that I moved out of Bukit Panjang area when I was 7 years old and now, I'm back in the same area after 23 years.
Certainly, the area here has changed quite a bit since I last stayed, with LRT system, many more HDB flats and alot more amenities. I used to remember having to take a bus down to Beauty World along Upper Bukit Timah Road to visit the shopping centres when I was young.
Revisiting my old area in Teck Whye Lane certainly brings back a lot of fond childhood memories of the mamashop @ Block 18, playing marbles in the playground (which is still there but given a modern facelift) and making a lot of noise, chasing my ole' Labrador (named Sandy, she died of old age after we shifted from the area to Yishun) around the void deck downstairs, the PAP center which I used to go to... the childhood friends I remembered...
So many memories...
2009 reflects a new beginning for us :)
