Angels In Charge by Greg Laurie (Daily Devotion from harvest.org)
Psalm 91:11
We don't know how many times angels have been working behind the scenes in our lives, how many times they have delivered us, or how many times they have intervened on our behalf. But we do know that God has given us a wonderful promise: that He will send His angels to protect us and keep us.However, there is a condition to God's promise that His angels will be actively involved in the lives of His children. We find it in Psalm 91:9-11:Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
From this passage, we see that the condition is making the Lord our refuge. So here is the point. God says, "I will do my part, but you must do yours." The phrase, "dwelling place," in verse 9 gives the idea of permanence of position, of settling down to stay somewhere.
So our goal should be to maintain a close relationship and fellowship with God, to abide with Him. His promise to us is that His angels will protect us. He will be there for us. He will be actively involved in our lives. He will keep us in all our ways.
