Rooting for Singapore's 1st Gold Olympic medal!

now watching the Live Telecast of the Beijing Olympics - table tennis semi finals.

Go Jia Wei! Go Tian Wei! Bring home those Gold medals!

Tian Wei has won with ease on the 1st singles match with the Koreans. Hopefully Jia Wei can keep her temperament and resolve to maintain and win.

~~~~~~~~~~Update:~~~~~~~~~~~~
now it's 2 wins to Singapore, 1 to Koreans......
the Korean player, Kim Kyung Ah, is a very excellent player... quite an obvious opposite to Jia Wei's character.. a more experienced and stable player who plays it nice and confident and then a killing shot...
Hope Jia Wei can see beyond her arch nemesis's tactics and go slow on the attack portion to secure a stable win...
~~~~~~~ Update:~~~~~~~~

Its 2:2 out of 5 matches.... Its anybody's game now... I'm literally on the edge of my seat!

~~~~~~~ Update:~~~~~~~~~
Jia Wei lost to Korean's Kim in the 2nd set Singles but it was a very good fight.... the score's closed on the last set of the best of 5 matches @ 9 to Singapore : 11 to Korea
Now the team event.... this is soooooo.... nail-biting! Go Team Singapore!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ update:~~~~~~~~~~~~

Team Singapore clinched the doubles easy. Now is up to the singles match up between Korea's Dang and S'pore's Wang Yue Gu!

All the pressure boils down to this match up...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ update:~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Singapore's Wang Yue Gu has lost to the Korean but it was a very spectacular match up with amazing play by the Korean!
and when it all comes down tot he final match-up to determine whether Singapore has got a fighting chance for the Gold medal... it's Feng Tian Wei who brought home at least the Silver!
The match up between Tian Wei and Mi Yoong is a very heart-pounding one coz every point counts. Mi Yoong's play was most excellent with a lot of superb saves and defensive tactics ending with a very quick and decisive attack. Tian Wei's composure and strategic play-making ensured a very calm and steadfast win without much mistakes...
Indeed she has made History today in Sports and we have broken the 40+ years of medal-less participation with at least a Silver in the bag... Now Team Singapore will all be tuned in for the Finals of the Table Tennis match-up with either China or Hong Kong this Sunday!
Kudos and congrats to Team Singapore!!! ^.^
Yay! Go Team Singapore!
Ron, I should have discovered your blog earlier... I missed all the matches, the excitment, the grand opening etc in Houston (no TV lah)... love your commentary of the matches! Joys
