I felt drained....
... I can't sleep regular hours... I felt temporarily misaligned with the things in life...
a seeding fear and worry gnawing steadily as the day of my mum's operation grows nearer... I lost touch with inspirations despite the work already laid out for the rest of the year....

This probably doesn't mean much coming from a stranger, but I remember a quote from Helen Keller:
"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadows."
So be strong, remembering that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how you respond to it.
I'm not a Christian or anything, but my thoughts are with you and your family. Keep your faith, whatever the outcome may be. Everything happens for a reason...
