Ash Wednesday Service
Attended Ash Wedesday service in Church yesterday... a very good solemn service that focuses on the meaning of why Ash Wednesday is so important to Christians. TehPeng's mum reminded us all that our sins are always before the Lord God and we must always refresh and cleanse ourselves before the Lord by honest confessions and faith-keeping in prayers before sin overtake us and eternal death follows on.
It's a very scary thought of a life without God now that I'm a christian and I think back to the days when I was a non-christian...
Ash Wednesday asks us to reflect upon ourselves and seek God in our private corners. To ask Him to cleanse and forgive the sins which we lay out in bareness, Sin like stains that we so often stain our white spiritual garments that God has put on our spiritual bodies.
It was a very good service. People coming together to pray and be anointed with the ash marked on our forehead in the sign of the cross, to remind us that we are so venerable, that we are not perfect. A very humble sign that we are God's creation.
