Man... diving gears are so expensive...
So went shopping at Concourse where there's a Dive shop called Richmond Diving Supplies and Services (highly recommended coz their gears are good, service is excellant and the staff, Vicky and Gavin, are very helpful) and deals with good scuba gears namely from ScubaPro
Shopping for Diving equipment is akin to getting a full DSLR and all the nicknacks. No joke... For a Japan-made Frameless googles from ScubaPro, it's around SGD$130. of coz there's a range for all budgets (from $35 cheapest - SGD$250++) but after trying on the Taiwan-made mask , I think I can detect the quality between that and the japan - made ones: good thing - I can share this mask with Ms Clover also so it's worth spending the 130 on it
besides that I got a advance snorkel, a pair of ankle booties and some mouthpieces for my own use, a mask sleeve.. all in all, I blew $220 on everything... and this is just like buying little accessories.. I haven't even got to touch the BCU, wetsuits, navigators, barometers, pressure gauges..etc...man.. this is like an expensive hobby leh... Sam got this very cool Twin Jet flippers... but those are really costly for me now... maybe next time if I'm hooked to the sport.
but I am just excited for the trip... sigh...
I underwater photography might be a good niche :-)
On the other hand, just go and have fun.
