the greatest reward...
just finished the coffee table book that my client wants. Sad to say, I accidentally destroyed 2 pages of the prints and I have to make a trip down to KimTian Imaging to have them printed again... sigh... din plan wwhat to do and then disaster happens. have to literally tear out the 1st page and thank God, the 2 page wasn't fully stuck on yet...
finished the rest of the book after meticulously trimming off 1mm of excess from the prints (the book page dimensions are 1 mm off the regular 12" x 8" print dimensions) heck a lot of trouble but I'm satisfied that I completed the task.
I think why I'm so kan cheong about this coffeetable book is that deep inside I knew the collection of photos within it, the design layout and the whole feel of it has God's blessings of creativity all embedded in each of the pages.
I never felt so good about the shots and colors this time round and I was just commenting to Ms Snooze that I will be doing one for myself as portfolio.
Like the title, the greatest reward for anyone is the fact that you know that you have poured your 101% efforts into achieving something for somebody. I met the bride this afternoon to discuss the draft of the layout and after deliberating for 30mins or so, we finally nailed the page sequence and the pics she wants in the book. I was glad and happy that she found my work to be to her and her husband's liking (she's quite an artist herself oso so it makes it even more heartfelt).
Feeling appreciated is one of the perks of the job. Really, it's very challenging to take an actual day wedding, from morning till night, you try to be refreshing in the angles, capturing the mood and moments (this one is one of the most challenging coz once you missed it, it's gone forever literally so a lot of pre-empt and foresight is required), and basically think on your feet to get the images that will speak volumes to whoever is viewing them.
After 15 weddings, I still enjoy the adrenaline of AD wedding photography, the satisfaction of capturing the moment in that split second and immortalising it on print. Which reminds me.. i should start revising my pricing liao... heh heh heh
Well.. off to bed now.. still have a long day ahead tomorrow :)
Like I said, it looks good! And I think u did capture the right moments! Have a v v good feel about it! Can feel the bliss and happiness of the wedding. =)
