the never ending search for good and authentic Japanese food has arrived in the form of Menya Shinchan...
After reading our fav. food blog from The Travelling Hungryboy (thanks for all the insightful reviews and haunts that you have been to in Japan and Singapore, we are compiling a list based on your reviews.. hahaha), we decided to just zip our way down to town for a quick ramen meal and zip back home after :D
There was such a strong feeling of nostalgia when we stepped into the little shop located in Robertson Quay, like our first experience stepping into an authentic Osaka Ramen shop when we were in Japan last Oct.
The smell of pork broth fills the nose as we walked to the counter to settle down for the authentic ramen. The service staff were quick and efficient, noted our orders (I had the Kuro Ma Yu Ramen while Ms Clover had the Shinjiro Madame Ramen along and some additional orders of Gyoza and 2 Ume Onigiri)
I seriously miss eating Onigiri :p
Anyway the food was really good and I felt almost instantly transported back to Kyoto/ Osaka, eating Ramen at the store and just enjoying the food and company.
Will blog more about it tomorrow.

the robertson quay area and across at mhd sultan have pretty good japanese restaurants on the average. quite yummy!!! i like this ramen place too!
