The year I turned 18...

Tagged by Imp

Ahh... the reminiscence of sweet youth :) I still remembered being teased of having to be chopped @ the entrance of Sparks disco as a MINOR and only allowed non-alcoholic drinks @ age 17... so at age 18, it's full swing @ Holland V's Wala Wala after classes and projects... think I was pretty influenced by the image of full independence as well as the culture in my poly course. The people in Film, Sound & Video dept is one unconventional group :D

So in accordance to the list from PopCultureMadness: here's my very short list of music that brings back the memories (though not all from 1997):

Salvage Garden - To the Moon & Back
hehehe, the album is a hit with most of the gals and guys then, Me included.

Bruce Springsteen - Secret Garden
this is so far my favourite romantic ballad still and I still plays it on and off.

Boyz to Men - On bended knees/ Water runs dry
what can I say, I love their voices esp when they sing acapella

TLC - Waterfall
okie, this is one off and becoz MTV keeps playing their music video, it got stuck in my head

R.Kelly - I believe I can fly
One of the best self-motivating songs. You can tell by now I'm kinda inclined towards African American Gospel-like songs

Bryan Adams - Summer of 69/ Have you really loved a woman/ When you love someone
When I first heard his 1st album, it got me hooked but that's all. His later albums were quite disappointing but his singles are still good.

Southern Sons - When you were there
Hahaha... I'm still amazed that I can remember this one-off single from them.. this song is really beautifully written.

Rick Price - Only Heaven knows
This song meant quite a bit to me coz during that time, I was in 2 minds about a girl I like.

The Corrs - Unplugged album
I love their albums, their music.. used to play it every night before I doze off.

Savage Garden was like Barney to me when sis turned teenager. She was blasting their songs non-stop that I come to erm, detest them.

LMS: Hahah... regular concert go-er :D

imp: no lah, me very kwai one... Sparks is just one off. Me more cafe person :p

dR: I can so imagine she blasting Savage Garden away and singing along loudly also... :D

Btw, Rick Price's song is "heaven knows", omit the "only":P

I like bruce springsteen's "secret garden", but the jerry maguire movie version... with all the "you had me at hello" verses...:P hehehe.
