What we did on Fri...

And so we we did the most Singaporean thing that we told ourselves never to do it again - yupz, qeueing up for at least 3 or more hours in order for a good deal.... You know the Mac' Donalds Hello Kitty Craze a few years back and all that stuff, yeah... so we did that last Friday..

SPH magazines is having this fair that really got Ms Clover interested in some of the gift sets that come along with the magazine subscriptions and so the ever obliging boyfriend (me!) woke up @ 9am on a Friday morning despite doing work till about 6am the night before and dragged myself down to Marina Centre to start the nation's 2nd fav pastime (1st is to complain, 2nd is to queue)

Arrived around 10 plus and man, you can be surprised that Singaporeans are very well informed of events like this and certainly can be very free on a FRIDAY MORNING?! to wait in line... so the line has snaked a little and I was considered the 1st 1/3 portion of the queue.. played PSP while waiting and entertaining those sales persons from Great Eastern, SPAs who loved to come and get your ot fill up forms when you just want some peace and quiet...

Ms Clover joined me after her overnight duty shortly after her meeting around 11.30am. Actually I would have expected the queue would have like moved a huge lot but noo....... in the past 1 hour, the line just trickled 3 - 4 meters.... as I have to rush off to meet a client, I left Ms Clover to her entertainment (books.. what else) and by the time I was back from the meeting around 1.40pm.... the line has moved only 15 -20 meters... sigh.... I seriously hate wasting time queueing

anyway, we finally made it to the main counter around 3.30pm.. yes... from 10 plus to 3.30pm... we came to reap our reward for being so patiently tolerant to the excessive invasion of the surveys-takers, loud teenagers, loud talking aunties, disco music and the the crazy idea of queueing in line for so long... we finally got what we came for....

Yupz!! A chocolate fountain set! (and of coz a whole lot of other goodies). Ms Clover was enticed by the offer that if you subscript 2 years of any of the SPH publishing magazines (Citibelle, Her World, Shape..etc) we are entitled to choose gifts from OTO, Crabtree & Evelyn and many others, including this chocolate fountain set. And so.. we went for a 2 year subscription for Her World as well as Shape and gotten ourselves 2 different Crabtree & Evelyn sets (retail worth around $189 for the more expensive set and $ 89 for the starter facial care set), the Chocolate Fountain (around SGD$200) and an OTO massager (around $ 90) for my mum....

All that waiting and finally getting the stuff we wanted, wecelebrated with a very good lunch @ Imperial Treasures... ahhh.. bliss! The camera function of the N73 is really really impressive also!

Let the party begin!! ^.^
