When it means much more....
Over the weekend, we were out walking about and just casually browsing around. Somehow Ms Clover and I were like roles reversal people: I like to go look at bags, window shopping, watches and gadgetaries and well, she like to shop based on necessity.
So while I stopped by to look at Nautical watches (which I like a lot), we spotted a very nice pink face stainless steel watch from Sovil et Titus which is equally appealing in design as well as style (2nd in this season's collection) and in my mind, I knew this is the watch for her.
So after asking her about what she thought of the design and feel, I bought it there and then. I guess it's never about the money but what it means to her and to me: a watch always reminds of a particular scene in Wong Kar Wai's In the Mood For Love where Tony Leong displayed a very interesting way of being with someone you love very much - the sharing of time together.
When you are in love, time seems to stop completely for the both of you as you spend every moment together. Time seems to speed by when you are in love also coz very soon, you find yourself deep in the relationship you have started in. Time is infinite when you love a person deeply and truly as so enforcing "till death do us part".
The watch represents the very precious times we have spent together as a couple the past 4, coming 5 years and in those 4 - 5 years, we have learnt alot about each other and of ourselves and that it's God blessings that we recieved in humbleness that got us together in the 1st place. To realise the existance of each other in the vast world we live in is already very difficult and to be together in harmonious personality is a notch more difficult.
Therefore, it is the meaning of the gift that meant so much more than anything else. Blessing others is a blessing for yourself so bless someone you love today :)
